    Question...

In iChat, I've added first/last names to the profiles of each of my contacts so I can display their real names, rather than their AIM names. I've noticed that this information must be stored locally since it doesn't carry over to another computer. Is there a prefs file or something somewhere that I can copy over to bring all of those profile changes to a new computer rather than having to manually change each one on each computer?

    Thanks!

    Anyone?

I realize this is minor, but it would be really helpful!

The contacts you have edited with iChat are managed by the Address Book.

You can use the Address Book export/import function to do what you want.

There are 2 export formats available :
    - vCards
    - archive

The archive is the fastest to use, but it will completely replace the Address Book of the Mac you will import on.

The vCard export is a more flexible solution :
    - you can choose to export contact by contact (ideal if you have only a few contacts to export/import)

    - you can choose to export all the contacts of a group in a single vCard file.
In this case, at import time, the new contacts will be added and you will be asked what you want to do for each contact if you choose "see duplicates ..." (keep original / keep new / keep both / update)

    Hope this helps...
