Moving Photos from Old to New Mac

Transfer to a new Mac with Migration Assistant - Apple Support

Migration Assistant transfers documents, apps, user accounts, and settings from one Mac to another. It doesn’t delete information from your old Mac or replace the operating system (macOS) on your new Mac.

Would be helpful if you could elaborate on what exactly you are trying to move (i.e. "photos" = your library on the Photos app, or something else...?), what are the options you have tried so far and what went wrong.

Just wondering... do you happen to have a USB3 drive around, large enough to hold your photo library?

Do you have the new Mac yet?

If so, have you already run the initial setup?
