I would like to move my windows partition from a shared disk with OS X & Windows7 to its own drive. I have true image so that should be easy. I have 2 questions
1 Do I need to run bootcamp setup on the new drive before cloning?
2 On the old windows partition that I would like to turn into a OS X partition can I just reformat that partition to wipe out windows or is there another step. The other half of the drive is my boot disk so I do not want to reformat the whole drive.

Here's what I would try on a Mac Pro.

Remove the OSX HDD.

Install W7 to a new HDD by inserting the new drive and W7 install disc, hold Alt/Option on boot. Don't enter a product key or activate.

Then only use True Image to try and clone from the old to the new drive.
