Well, ladies and gentlemen. I did some counter espionage on the mac stores in London.
Went into Micro Avinka right by Tottenham Court Road. Man, everyone had a candian accent there
They were pretty happy for me to fiddle around with one of the larger displays (I even had a game of chess to see how far I can take it). Not a sound, only there was a bunch of tourists standing next to me staring at the Powerbook. So I finally left it alone. When I asked someone a basic question (to test their level of knowledge) I was given a "sorry mate, Im just too busy". I was like wtf!
Then I popped into the Square Group (big sign saying "Apple Centre" in white square outside
). They wer just as happy with me fiddling around with a powerbook. I asked the same basic question (do you have education discounts for students?) I was given a "We kind of do, we only give you a 2% off. You're better off buying it from the website"
So there you have it, Micro Avinka are in it for the money, The Square Group know what they on about.
P.S.> I just saw a 12" powerbook for the first time today... kawaii, ne?
