Hi,

I recently had my iphone UK iphone 3GS stolen (was still waiting for my insurance to be activated so wasn't yet covered!)

I can't live without it!! Would like to buy another. Can't afford the Iphone 4.

I will be moving to the US in 6 months so wanted to know if I purchase a new UK iphone 3GS would it be compatible with a US phone carrier as I would be looking for a new contract when I get there.

Would i be better buying a US iphone that could be compatible with my current UK contract? Does that exist?

Any advice would be great!! Thanks!

If it is unlocked then yes, but only on AT&T.

If you buy it unlocked from Apple in the UK it will work on any GSM network in the world.
