I have an trial version of fusion that has xp on a tiger desktop. Thinking of getting fusion 2 and put it on my new macbook. Can I make a copy of the one in tiger and move it to my new laptop or is this a bad idea and have to reinstall xp? tnks

if its not bootcamp and just vmware only you can move it all you want. Windows running in vmware is fully encapsulated in vmdk file so you can take it and move it to different computers.

Make sure your vmware is not running and navigate to the folder where fusion keeps your vms. right click on vmwarevm file (which is actually a package containing your windows) and copy it to your new macbook. Once copy it just double click it on new macbook after installing fusion on it and it will start up.
