Hey folks,
MacPro 5,1
Mojave (latest)
Boot Rom 140.0.0.0.0
Saphire RX 580
Glotrends PCIe adapter card
1T WD Blue SN550 NVMe
2 X Samsung SA850 monitors via displayport

So I powered it down, unplugged it and shoved in the new NVMe into the top slot.

When I powered back up I got a chime but no display.

Reset PRAM, still no display

Removed NVMe adapter card, powered back up - still no display

Any ideas??

UPDATE
OK so I removed all of the HDs, 3 spinners and 2 SSDs and left the boot SSD in (DVDr connection). Booted, held breath and voila! I have a desktop!

Wonder if it's possible then that the Mac had booted to the choose start-up disk screen and I just couldn't see it?

Really regretting loosing the old video card....

I'll try adding in the NVMe card again and see what happens

WD Blue SN550 is not compatible with Mac Pro, see the first post of the thread below. Change for a compatible model.

OK so I see where it's listed as not compatible ugh...

WD Blue SN550: Western Digital in-house: NVMe, M.2 blade
Sandisk 96 layer 3D TLC / Controller DRAM less
Available in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB
PCIe 3.0 x4
Speeds: up to 2400 MB/s read, up to 1950 MB/s write (1TB)
Datasheet
Compatibility status: Issues/not compatible (don't work from cold boot/sleep issues)

I'll try installing an OS on it anyway before I send it back

OK... searching for another 1T NVMe blade I guess :)
