I actually saw this mentioned in another thread by someone else, but didn't see anyone post a resolution. Might be a config related issue in OC, however after upgrading from Catalina to Big Sur, both Display Ports no longer work on my Pulse RX580. HDMI ports work just fine.

No errors in the install and no other weirdness that I can pinpoint, just that. Is there a config change that I should make in OC or otherwise to get them to work again? Thanks.

Hmmm... My Display Port worked BUT monitors wouldn't wake up from sleeping (like me sometimes on a Sunday morning :) ) Switched to HDMI and all sweet

HDMI works fine, just my monitor only does higher refresh rate via display port so I’d like to continue to use it if possible. If not it’s certainly not a deal breaker.

Try and install Monterey. I have beta 12.2 running on my 5.1s with rx480, rx460 and vega 56 GPUs and all ports work

I have a monitor hooked up to one of my machines that apparently is known to be problematic, LG 27UK850-W. It doesn't seem to boot when hooked up to the DisplayPort, but will with the HDMI port. I can switch it to the display port afterwards.

When it goes to sleep, it starts to wake up the monitor when connected to HDMI, but the monitor ends up saying no signal. I can change the input to something else and then back and it works. I do not have this problem with the display port.

It does this with or without OpenCore. It does it in Mojoave, Catalina, and Big Sur. It has done it with a regular sapphire rx 580 and one flashed by Macvidcards. All of it works with a 32 inch LG monitor I have, and the original monitor works fine with a pc.

I'm still holding off upgrading to Monterey for a bit, but it would be nice if that fixed it, but I'm not very hopeful.

I had some issues originally with Monterey when I tried it, so I will likely hold off on that for a while as BS seems to be very stable here. If I have to live with HDMI and a 30HZ RR, then so be it, was just curious if someone else had any ideas on how to get the functionality back.

Try booting with HDMI and then connect Display Port when you have login prompt. If this works you can try booting blind and turning the monitor off and on.

Any more ideas on this one as right now its the only bug Ive found that doesn't seem to work properly?

Any updates on this thread? Having the same issue with the RX580. After installing Bir Sur 11.7.1 both display ports on the GPU no longer work but the HDMI ports still work. Need all 4 ports working asap.

Hi GreatWhiteNorthMac - looks like I may have a similar set up to you (prior to you taking the leap away from OC on your cMP 5,1 and going to OCLP !) - I am on Big Sur 11.2.3 (20D91) on OC 0.6.5 from dosdude and the hackintool - it has worked so well I haven't wanted to interrupt or risk my workflow til now. My cMP is a 2009 4,1 flashed to 5,1 and has 96gb RAM and system is on an NVMe pcie stick - GPU is the radeon RX 580 8GB with twin HMDI and twin displayports plus one DVI (hooked up to an old cinema display). I have a 2013 iMac running catalina off a 1tb fusion drive - I'd like to use this as another monitor for the cMP but BetterDisplay and Fluffly Display both don't seem to be able to create virtual displays ? Have you heard of anyone having success at this? - I am attached to the catalina install on the iMac as it has Logic Pro on it (I am a hobbyist musician) but could conceivably cut a partition and OCLP it to get it to dual boot into another newer OS but I know with the cMP once you get the OC up, there's little chance of getting the GPU to work on older OS's ..... I am a bit stuck. ANy ideas/ side options (ie other routes to getting more out of these two macs and especially expanding my screen real estate) gratefully received.
Thanks
Andy

PS (to All) if I update OC to 0.8.8 whilst still on big sur 11.2.3 will it likely work ? - once done, I would then update big sur to it's latest version - that might fix a few things ... I had been planning to get a new NVMe stick especially for this occasion and pull the current one so at least I have that to go back to to get a working machine, but of course now I have a functinoing iMac which I could use whilst I 'fix up' the cMP

Hey Andy,

If I were to take a guess, I'd start by making sure both machines were on the same iOS. You should be able to update your iMac without sacrificing Logic. Unless your version will not work on iOS 11+ ?. I also use Logic and have it installed on my cmp. I made the mistake of updating to Big Sur to accommodate another integral app update but regret it. Catalina was WAY more stable in my case. SO try the iMac update and see if that solves the problem but do a little digging first to ensure all your software will work once the iOS is updated.
