Don't see any online, I think when you said Mac Pro they confused it with the MacBook Pro 13 inch which you can buy on sale for $1,000.

I wouldn't be too shocked to see that as an open box deal on the 4-core MP. Bestbuy does occasionally have pretty absurd open box deals on Macs.

I have since checked with him and it was a macbook pro (he had said it was a mac pro before). A 1,000 price tag on a MP is not that far off for the base model, particularly if it was an open box and/or rounding was used.
