Hi all,

been having plenty of problems lately.

Just discovered that my MP isn't recognizing RAM on one of my boards.

I had 4x2GB installed, 2 on each card.

(need to mention I just installed Lion last night)

Just checked "About This Mac"

and it showed a pair of 2GB sticks on one card, with the other card empty.

i removed both pairs on what i think was showing as the empty card and made both cards match with 1x2GB stick of RAM on each card in the same spot.

rebooted, now i'm only showing 2GB of RAM

any help is appreciated!

****update****

i swapped the RAM cards- moving top to bottom and vice versa, in the ram section for about this mac, the RAM now shows up in the right hand column instead of the left column.

now if only i new which column refers to which ram card slot...

I had the exact same problem when I was installing a new video card - one of the RAMtrays would disappear when the new card was installed. Through trial and error, I discovered that there was some sort of conflict between the new ATI 5770 and a Sonnet PCIe card (a usb / firewire hub card) that was causing my RAM to disappear. Once Ipulled the Sonnet card, all the RAM showed up.

Not sure if this is helpful in your particular case, but it may help point you to some other hardware conflict.

Good luck.
