iPod MP3 Tags?

I have nine recorded songs that I've created into MP3's. I found some MP3 tag editor to put in the song title information. When I import them to itunes the info reads perfectly, but when I burn them as an audio disc all the information is lost. Is this due to the extension change from .mp3 to .cda? How can I burn a disc that will keep all this info? 😕
