Then you'd have to spring the 300 bucks for an external BD burner. Or split it up.

I can't imagine that something compressed from the internet could be a beacon of image quality on a big screen. If your DVD player is uprezzing DVD to 1080, you might better run that thing through iDVD for SD. Difference can't be too big.
 
you have to convert the MP4 to MPG and then burn it on to a DVD, for it to play on a dvd player. I actually posted this question maybe 2 weeks ago. People suggested using the BURN program:

^ there's the link. When you try to burn the mp4 to the dvd, it will give you message that the the video's current format (mp4) can't be burned onto the dvd. Then it gives you the option of converting it to (mpg), because that mpg file is the only one that can be burned onto a cd.
