About two years ago I ripped all of my cd's to mp3. This was very nice and I enjoyed them without fuss or frustration. Now however....

I keep all my music files on my external hard drive that is attached to my PC. We purchased our first mac and I decided to move the files over to this for my wife could easily use her IPOD. Now I have some files that are being listed as MPEG 4 files on my external hard drive.

I didn't steal these and I don't know how this happened. But now ITUNES won't recognize them. I can't play them on my wife's IPOD. and I don't even know how many files this has happened too as I can't do a search to see which ones have been affected.

I hate to sound like an idiot. But I guess I do. I am very computer savvy but I just can't figure this out. I have about 8000 songs and I am not going to manually go through each folder to see which cd is mp3 and which one is not.

Does anyone know how I can sort through this folder on my pc and then convert the mpeg 4 to mp3's.

Sorry for such a long post.
