So I am having trouble using MPEG Stream Clip. I used to be able to convert files to AVI, but now it won't work. When I choose that as the setting, I have to input the frame rate, which I do. Then, it starts converting, and 3 seconds later it says "Compression Error."

What causes that? Im converting MOV to AVI (DivX). Any help would be appreciated.

What version of MPEG Streamclip and Divx are you using?
And what codec does the .mov file use?
You can check via VideoSpec (I prefer that, though it hasn't been updated since 11/2009), MediaInfo Mac (10/2010) or MediaInfo (10/2010, there is a Mac OS X version to download, VideoSpec and MediaInfo Mac are using the same library as MediaInfo).

I don't know what codec that "apcs" one is, maybe MPEG Streamclip can't properly read it or it is somehow protected. From where does this .mov file come from?

It's a movie export from FCP. The audio was ogg converted into mp3. Maybe that's the problem? I'm exporting it with default settings.

Maybe try Compressor then? It has some presets you can use if you like.
FCP normally uses ProRes and AIC, but I have no clue as to what that "apcs" is, the only thing I found is:

    Hmm.

I'll try. I openied the ogg filed in Audacity, then saved them as mp3, then imported them to FCP.

    Thanks!
