Tidal is now streaming MQA titles to it's HiFI customers. You have to use the desktop application for now. Go to "What's New", and under Albums select "Masters".

I just picked the first album listed, Lemonade (Beyoncé). It was like having a live concert in my own living room. Currently they only have about 30000 tracks from Warner Music, which is a small number but it means Hi-Res streaming (>44.1 kHz /16 bit, the Tidal HIFI streaming rate) is now becoming available.

    According to:

Tidal are[sic] streaming 24bit/96kHz (and above)

"Rhapsody/Napster and HD Tracks, all in concert with the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), today announced their support for studio-quality hi-res audio for music streaming."

Apple and Spotify are supposedly working on it as well.

And it also looks as if MQA can be delivered via software, which means it might come to the iPhone.

I tried streaming to my Yamaha/GoldenEar main speakers via AirPlay but the results were disappointing. I had to crank the Yamaha up to -15 from it's regular -27 and the volume was still low. Didn't have the punch or resolution, which I assume is due to AirPlay limitations.

Also tried streaming via the Oppo MediaControl Tidal App to my Oppo, but Masters doesn't show. I'd love to hear MQA on my main speakers, but I guess I have to wait.

Why wait when you can get an MQA enabled DAC like the meridian explorer 2. Set Tidal to MQA pass-through. Now you can hear how MQA really sounds.
