Re Face ID:

gets worse over time

less convenient than touch ID

doesn't work as well as touch ID

no quicker than the Note 8 equivalent

the fact you have to swipe the screen is an annoyance given that it has already detected you

Re new gestures:

the software button is too thin, can be hit and miss, compared to the home button

not as seamless as he thought it would be

Re the notch

you'll get over it in an hour (though I can't see myself ever getting over it, it's a cut out of the screen)

Re the screen

good but no where near as good as the Note 8 screen

Re the Anamojis:

no f.a.r.k.s given

Apparently you didn’t actually watch the video. I did.

1. He didn’t say that Face ID gets worse over time. He said that other versions of the same thing from other manufacturers did.

2. Mr. Gadget is also Mr. Moron, from what I heard.

Mr. Mobile needs to retire. Wow. He complains about having to swipe up and appears to be completely oblivious to the fact that it exists this way for a reason: lock screen notifications.

I watched the vid. I was trying to be brief. I said Face ID gets worse over time. It was not directed at the iphone version, but to face id in general. Still, face id getting worse over time is still face id getting worse ovee time. The jury is still out on this. Time will tell. It's gotta live up to something which in no way was broken. You know the saying right, don't fix what ain't broken.

spent minutes trying to get reachability right? He makes the gestures awkward because he doesn't really seem like he understands the phone well.
He should probably review in a month when he understands it more.

Maybe we need a MrMobileX

You once created a thread saying you hate the iPhone X with a passion. Now, here you are, creating a thread for the purposes of posting a “review” video from a person who doesn’t know an iPhone from iPod. Seems suspicious...

Face ID is Face ID, there is only one. You cannot say Face ID in general as Face ID is specific to the iPhone X. Saying that it gets worse over time is complete conjecture.

I'll toss in JMo's video on here as well like I did in some previous threads. Face ID has only a one face scan limit which could be concerning for people who live in cold weather or women under Muslim laws.

If you cover your eyes, nose, mouth, it's a no-go. Michael Fisher on the other hand feels all facial recognition is great in the beginning but tends to get worse and less convenient over time. We will just have to wait and see.

The lockscreen messages integration with our face scan is a nice touch though. Very Apple-esque. Just think of Face ID as Touch ID Gen 1. Probably improves by 2019.

Sometimes you do in order to move forward. I can't say whether Face ID will be better than Touch ID but I'm willing to see how it goes.

This post makes the video sound much more negative towards the iPhone X... folks watch the video for yourselves if you can.

Steve Jobs would've slapped whoever said that.

Apple is not a "don't fix it if it ain't broke" company.

Mr. mobile is well respected in the tech industry from being the reviews editor for Pocketnow. He's since branched out on his own.

I don't think he was negative just stating his impressions. Even he said he'll have a better opinion once he uses it for a full review. He was pretty positive about the 8 plus reviews btw.

If anything him referencing Rene Ritchie should tell you he's not biased against Apple

Ok so this one dimwit didn't like the virtually unknown tech, which he knows nothing about, and why am I even posting here?

Well, he came across as being less than informed and a bit obnoxious.
