MS Access and Mac software

Is there a software packege that imports and exports Access files?

I am a new Mac user who is getting a MacBook Pro and am wondering just how much PC software I need to load.

Does Filemaker do this?

OpenOffice/NeoOffice can. FileMaker is a real database management system and does not read Access files.

Import / Export of data and creating actual Access databases are two different things.
If you have to create Access databases, complete with user interface, that will be used by other Access users, then I don't think you can avoid installing Windows and Access.
