I think the answer is no, but can I run a zipped .exe Excel file on Mac OS? I can unzip the excel file of course, but this one is zipped with an .mdb file which the excel file draws content from.

Any ideas?

The simple answer is no. You can however either by a copy of Office for Mac..( which includes Excel) Or by Numbers (Apples' version of Excel) from where you can import Excel sheets.
