I can connect my AT&T iPhone through exchange to get my company email and haven't had problems. I'm currently running 4.3.

My friend has a Verizon iPhone and the exact same setup on her phone is not working. She can get mail but after some time it starts to ask for the password despite it already being in there. It'll ask over and over again despite pulling mail. If she enters her password in after a more than "X" times, she gets locked out of her mail on the phone and her computer. If she doesn't respond to the password questions after a bit, it won't pull her mail.

The setup is the same as my AT&T iPhone. Is this a known Verizon iPhone issue?

Also, we have people at the company with AT&T iPads and they don't have any problems with their mail either setup the same way.

I had the same problem setting up Exchange email on my iPhone. I had the same settings as co workers but it didn't work. Well I'm not sure what happened but about two days later it started working correctly. It did seem to work after I changed my password though. I would say when setting up Exchange email on a phone I would change the password the same time.

I can guarantee you that the carrier has no effect on if Exchange is working or not. Activesync traffic is http traffic carried over ports 80 if they're stupid and allow unencrypted access to your Exchange server or 443 for SSL.

Any number of factors can cause Exchange problems, and the vast majority of them are server or configuration issues. As far as troubleshooting the best thing to do is remove the Exchange account, restart the phone, and add the account again.

When it happens just have her reboot.

I have had it happen twice on mine, i'm using google sync via exchange. Each time it asked for a password even though it was there and correct. I then rebooted and all is fine after.
