MS Office 2004 Box Suggestions

I bought Office 2004 on Black Friday for the upgrade to Office 2008. I was just sending in my rebate information and happened upon MS's suggestion for what to do with the oblong box. Does this strike anyone else as odd (another failed attempt at being hip/cool)? I'd laugh out loud if I saw anyone walking along with a handbag made of this box!

Just when I thought Microsoft couldn't get any more ridiculous after the "Wow start now" and "Welcome to the social" slogans...
 
Cringe.

This reminds me of the "Get a Mac" ads where PC tries to be "cool".
