MS Office 2008 - Alternate Text for Pics

Unlike Office for Windows, the Mac version has never been able to add "alternate text" for pictures when in the "Format" dialog box. I thought I read that 2008 had this option now BUT i don't see it anywhere. Anybody know if this function is in the new Mac version? It's useful when making documents 508 compliant for screen readers.😡
