Hi, I am running the latest version of mojave and i have the latest version of ms office. The issue I am having is that when I run ms office autoupdater it is automatically opening up a dmg file on my computer. This just started recently and I am not sure if it has to do with the latest mac update or something with office.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Just downloaded but the issue still occurs when i open the updater by going through Word.
That is strange, what dmg file is it opening?
You can completely uninstall Microsoft Auto Update by deleting:
/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app
/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.microsoft.update.agent.plist
~/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper.plist

The only explanation I can think of is that Word saved some temporary info or settings on the dmg and the AutoUpdate app is trying to retrieve them. Look for hidden files on the dmg.

The only thing that I saw that was hidden was a .fseventsd file that is creating a new textedit file each time that I run the autoupdater. Not sure what to do. Thanks.

I was able to reproduce your problem, the fix is simple: open Word and remove from Recent the documents that are stored on the dmg.
