Hallo, is there a coverter for MS office documents to be able to read them in imac or do i need to buy the office 2008?

You could try opening them in NeoOffice. Pages can also open .doc files but it doesn't always format Word documents accurately.
If it's a .docx file you're trying to open then you'll need Office 2008, or you can use this: http://docx-converter.com/

Not completely related but I find it much less of a headache across all platforms/applications if I save the file as a Rich Text Format.
