MS Office Font Issue that wont go away...

Has anyone encountered the issue where Times New Roman Size 12 font looks strange.
Here's an example of 2008 (left) and 2004 (right)?

Any idea on how I can fix this?

Clearly you have enabled the small caps typestyle. Why you have it enabled is anyone's guess. Check your Normal style.

True. By check I think you mean to say click on Normal heading style and that should fix it for the OP.

actually i do have it set to normal. In fact my normal includes the Small Caps option. How can I get rid of this?
