MS Office ordered off macs...

    That's old news from about a month or so ago. Must be a slow day for MDN to be posting it now.

    It's happening all over. I heard somewhere that Japan instead of upgrading their PCs with Vista is going to use Linux in all schools.

    Didn't realise that it was old news as it was posted on MDN today, and another site I use linked to it as 'news'.

    Meh, never mind.

    Well it's news to everyone who hadn't heard about it....like me. ;)


    Anyway, I think kids really should have MS Office on some computers, and that's what will probably happen. They don't need Office on every single school computer. They just need several copies for several of their computers.

    Macs ? Education in NZ


    My current University has hundreds and hundreds of computers, and I think maybe 20 of them are macs.

    My old High School used many macs however, but they were poorly maintained by the system admin. He had no idea what he was doing.

    EDIT: The '?' in that message is a does not equal sign. Forum doesn't support it I guess...

    Did they "lease" the software rather than purchase? If you purchase it, you get to use it no matter how long...
