Hi all... just taken delivery of my new 27" iMac, quick question please... Where is the best place for me to get MS Office..?
Many Thanks Jay

i don't get it. This is the easiest and best way right now. If you don't want to pay for it just use pages from Apple.
actually.... They are on my MacBook Air... is there a process of copying it to my new iMac..?

Various retailers do deals on Office 365 licences from time to time. Amazon is just one but in the pre-Microsoft 365 days you could stack the codes too for up to 5 years

Depending on the subscription plan, you might be able to install it on more than one machine. My Business-level subscription allows me to install it on my iMac and my MacBook Pro as well as use it on my iPhone and iPad.

If you don't want to rent software, there's always "Office 2019". It's a one time cost.

I'm not sure if Microsoft 365 is discounted because of COVID. If it is, that may yet prove to be the less expensive option, even after two years of leasing.

It's the same for home licences. You could purchase for 5 users - each user getting 1Tb of One Drive as well as access to the Office suite, and each of whom could install on 5 devices (the full license allow you to run iOS versions on iPads above 9.7" in size).

The killer app here is that you can decide what stays locally on your device at all times vs what can be deleted if space is getting short vs what must stay in the cloud. That flexibility to device as and when is a massive bonus for One Drive as well as the stuff (like folder sharing) that's been a staple for so long.

Apple really have a long way to catch up when it comes to iCloud - although they have been hiring in that sphere.

where do I get office 2019 for a one of purchase... thx.

I just bought a "damaged box" key code for a year of 365 from Amazon. The shipper said the shipping container was damaged and it didn't meet Microsoft's shelf brand requirements. Got a year for $24.99. The box showed up with the slightest dent in the corner making it unattractive for a store shelf. Definitely the way to go. I think I have 3 years stacked up right now.

I see that google shopping for "Office 2019" leads to a hive of scum and villainy.

Here's Microsoft's link. Office Home and Student 2019

If you think you need more business features (or the home and student license doesn't cover your business) it'll cost you more.

I trust you noted that it is for 1 PC or Mac and that suits you. The subscription is much better value if you have 2 or more PCs or Macs and/or want some OneDrive cloud storage.
