Dear forum members, I'm on the Sequoia Public beta. In MS Office, Word and Outlook open, but Excel and Powerpoint are frozen. Right-click in the task bar, and get a reply "Application not responding". Anybody any ideas how to solve this? I have downloaded and reinstalled MS Office 3 times now. Do I need to give/alter permissions? Something else?

Many tanks for any tips!

What version of Office are you running? I use MS Office 16.87 and have no such issues. Both Excel and PowerPoint are working for me.

Hi Lou, Same here. MS Office 16.87. How strange that some of the MS apps open, some don't. Do you know if one can download just Excel from the MS website, or need to download the complete Office suite? I tried but could not find that option.

Thx

My Microsoft Office version 16.87.2 (24072822) is working fine on the Mac MINI Pro 2023.
Did you try to run the Microsoft Office software update?

Could try uninstalling Office and installing the individual apps through the Mac App Store instead.

When you download the suite, MS downloads the individual apps. You could ignore the apps you don't want and concentrate on the ones that are giving you trouble. I download from here:

Thanks Lou,

I've re-downloaded Excel again, sadly same result. All other Office applications now open but Excel. No idea what else I can do.

Best,

Quinten

Have you tried your Office with a Release OS (Sonome, Ventura, etc.)?

16.97 runs just fine on my M2 with Sonoma 14.6

^^^^Get an App like AppCleaner and Trash Excel using the app. Install Excel again.

Lou
👏👏👏 Thank you Lou. This worked!!! Although AppCleaner couldn't delete all Excel files because :I did not have permission", I found them manually and re-installed Excel. Now working perfectly.

Thanks again, Quinten

Seems to be a hang in the software license validation?
