Most people would say to switch to Adium or Mercury, which are 2 very good free messengers for Mac that support MSN. But I will recommend you to wait a week before you switch. MSN Messenger 5 is supposed to be released soon (it probably won't since it has been pushed back many times), so you should try out that before switching. Anyway, if you don't want to wait, try Adium at http://www.aiumx.com and Mercury at http://www.mercury.to

If you want a fancy messenger that looks pretty, and it's very customizable, go for Adium

If you want a metalic messenger, less customizable, but that supports webcam sending and receiving, better file transfers, nudges, quick receiving of avatars, etc., then go for Mercury.

If you don't like any of those, do a search in Google for Fire, Proteus and aMSN

Good luck, oh, and don't forget to go to http://www.adiumxtras.com to get custom looks for Adium.

It's a pretty inherent MSN 4.0 problem. Apparently the new version (5.0) should be fixing this when (if) it arrives later this month. Maybe...
