.mt2s on FCPX

I have a Sony Handicam camcorder that shoots video in .mt2s format. I have these videos on my hard drive, and deleted them off of my camera a few years ago. Now that I finally understand how to do advanced editing, I'd like to edit them in Final Cut Pro X, but as many know, Macs don't support this format. Are there any codecs, or any free applications out there to make the videos work in Final Cut? There are around 100, so batch converting would be helpful.

i just rewrap as is then drop them into fcx.
