Some scales have this feature

Some scales, in addition to measuring weight, can measure body fat via electrical impedance.

Oh -- one more thing the app definitely needs is a way to get the data out! Emailing it should be sufficient. With those two features I'd gladly spend $1.99 on it. I've been meaning to get around to making a basic $0.99 weight log app myself, but this one already has a lot of work put into the slick interface, so I needn't bother... if it gets those two critical features!

Checkout the Coming Soon part of http://tapbots.com/weightbot/ both of your requests are on the list.

I personally have NO use for this app whatsoever (I don't even own a scale), yet I'm going to buy it anyway. It's only $2, and I really just want to support developers who make really nice-looking, clever, yet easy-to-use apps. I want to see MORE from these guys. In fact, since they're around....any hints for what tapbots are coming up next from you guys? :D

Excellent. I love this app, great design. Looking at what you are going to add, I am sure this will be one of my favorite apps for a long time. I would say the ability to backup/restore data should be the number one priority for the next release.

removal of 90 day limitation to modify data ? so it actually stores more than 90 days now? I didn't get that impression. The 90 day limitation should be the next in priority especially if that is all it retains.

Sure. Here are some things you can expect in the future:

- Ability to Backup/Restore your data
- Moving Average line in the graph view
- Multiple graph views (Month/Year)
- Removal of the 90 day limitation to modify data
- Gestures to jump faster through dates/weight measurements in the scroller.
- Alternate data view with information like lbs lost to date, lbs lost per week/month, lbs. left to reach goal, etc.
- Localization
- Option to attach other details to each weight entry (notes for example)

We have a ton of ideas. Some that just didn't make it into the original 1.0 version and others we got from user feedback. The list above is probably the most requested and what we feel are most important right now.

+1 on setting a goal date so you can see how well you are doing.

Great app by the way :)

It retains data forever. The 90 day limitation is how far back you can go to edit data. The main reason for this limitation is because its a pain to scroll +3 months manually and we honestly didn't think people would want to or need to edit data older than 3 months. Obviously we were wrong. :) But we are working on gestures to significantly speed up the scrolling process and will then remove the limitation.

Wow, this is awesome! I've been tracking my weight off and on since 1996 and have always wanted something like this. I'm in pre-holidays trim-down mode so good timing.

I think the coolest thing would be to be able to scale the graph horizontally and vertically using the standard iPhone touchscreen movements.

i would really love to be able to track fat percentage also. its built into my scale and many other modern scales. a combination of fat and weight is a more accurate picture of weightloss and the ability to turn on/off fat tracking for records and the chart would be amazing.

Incredible app! The interface is unreal...absolutely love it and I actually have fun looking forward to using it each morning after I weigh myself.

Just an awesome job and I look forward to any and every update you put out. I'm going to be recommending this to several of my friends.

Oh, and a great price too! Keep up the good work and I hope folks out there designing apps will take a lesson from the UI clinic you are putting on.

Bought it last night and like it alot. Backup would be a huge addition. I don't see a line that says overweight. Therefore my current weight and my goal must both be over the overweight line. Anyways I am trying to lose weight and it is not very fun to track it on a spreadsheet. This app made it fun. Thanks!

Perfect for me

I have been on a very strict low carb diet since April. I weigh on a daily basis and manually record each figure on my calendar. Actually, this is about the only time I use the calendar as I now us iCal since getting the iPhone. So, this app is absolutely perfect for my needs. I also really like the UI; it's fun to hear the sound when recording the weight.

Thanks for your efforts and I look forward to later versions.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. :) We are working hard on a version update to get some of those requested features out for you.
