I currently have a MBP 15" unibody late 2008
2.53GHZ 4GB RAM 320HDD 9600GT 512 Video card which a friend at work would like to purchase of me for £950.

I've been looking at getting the ipad and imac to complete my needs.
Looking at the refub imac 21.5" with 3.33GHZ,1TB HDD 4GB Ram and ATI 4670HD video card

Question is....How much faster is this compared to my MBP when both are really the same CPUs.

I mostly browse the web and emails and alittle video editing in imovie taken on my new iphone 4, do some gaming from time to time. ( about once every 2 months )

If 2.53 GHz is 100%, then the 3.33GHz model is 32% faster (3.33/2.53). The GPu might also be stronger, but that you have to ask a search engine, as there are some discussions out there.

The 3.33 GHz iMac is more than enough for your needs, you can save sone money though by just taking the 3.06 GHz model (with the ATI of course), even though it is only 21% faster.

But that is only if you go by clock speed as the C2D CPUs in the current Mac line are faster than the C2D CPUs in the 2008 MBPs, as you can see from the model numbers on the following two pages.
