I have been mulling this over for a few weeks. I'm going 13" and buying a 27" iMac in a few months for gaming and video editing. The perfect setup IMO. It's pricey but I should be set for a few years. I know an air would be a smarter laptop in this setup but I just can't get past how great text looks on the rMBP.

The other option was to buy the 15" and a new ATD when they come out. That would be cheaper by a few hundred bucks, but at least with option 1 I'll have two computers out of the deal and a smaller laptop footprint.

maybe i just have small hands. :D

finally pulled the trigger.

now all i have to do is wait... and shop for the accessories while it ships.

what should i look out for when i check the product upon receiving it?

Congrats!

Nothing, really - just make sure it works (which it will). You could check for image retention after a week or so, but that'd be about it.

Dude, what's with you and the 13" rMBP hate? You're now spamming everything with the overpriced BS. You returned yours? Good for you. Now let others enjoy theirs.

OP, I bought the 13" rMBP (i7/512) and I'm extremely happy with it. Expensive? Yes. Overpriced? No. Portability always comes with a premium.

15" rMBP is huge. Yeah yeah it's light and thin bla bla bla, but it's all about the footprint.

Lol chill bro everybody has their opinion. If you don't think that the 13" retina is overpriced than you obviously aren't that smart because even people who bought it admit that it is overpriced. If you have the money and can afford it, that's great but just because you can afford something doesn't mean it's not overpriced. So stop being ignorant and defending the price just because you decided to pull the trigger on it.
