Usually end up back with apple leather or silicone. This year I have the elderberry silicone and it’s so greasy. Have a pitaka mag pro on the way, potentially as my main

Man the sector 6 from elementcase was my go to. But now that they only make bulky ugly cases I usually fall back to the Apple leather case

The darker silicone colors will have that greased up look quick

Would do succulent or red

Agreed, I had red last year and really liked it. In the past I’ve had brighter colors and they weren’t as bad with grease. But I felt all spontaneous and wild this year and thought “why not try a dark silicone case?”…and I found out 🤣

Otterbox Symmetry in black

I always buy a ton of cases every year but I always end up using the OB Symmetry, I always have a black and clear one. Its protective, slim..ish, but this year's is just perfect for me.

I always end up going back to an apple leather case as my go-to, even though the minimal protection gives me slight worry as a daily. I always treat my phone like it’s a delicate and fragile thing, but especially so if it’s “only” in the apple leather case and I’m out and about. Had the Midnight on my 13 PM, and now Ink on my 14 PM.

I’ve preordered a Nomad Rugged in their orange-black colour, and that’ll be my case for the gym, hiking, etc.

I used a Nomad leather case on my 7 Plus and I’d say that’s a good compromise if wanting more protection and you don’t want to swap cases regularly.

If I could only have one, I’d still choose the Apple leather case (but be more inclined to pony-up for AppleCare).

Last year, I had a total of 12 cases and swapped through them pretty regularly. I ended up settling on the Bullstrap but modern Nomad and Midnight Apple leather got a fair amount of play.

For this year, I told my self I’d be buying one case and one case only and technically I’ve adhered to that. I started out with a midnight silicone case, hated that and traded it for an Apple clear case, loved that but wanted leather so paid $10 to swap to my current ink leather case, which I’ve had for exactly two weeks today.

To answer OP’s question a little more briefly, Apple Leather all day.

In the past, it used to be the Caudabe Sheath, but starting with the 13 on, it's been Apple Leather.

I like the leather but found it too slippery for the max and was worried bout this too. I probably will still pick one up but ill wait for a deep sale to get one. and hopefully more colors, the only one I like for the launch lineup is Umbar

Yup, it’s slippery to the point where I’m consciously EXTREMELY careful with it when taking it out outside over concrete. Would be nice to have a more protective daily, but the Ink leather is gorgeous, the case is slim and light, the phone doesn’t overheat like it does in other cases I’ve tried, and the fit is perfect.

Yep on a dog walk I feared the same even with MagSafe pop socket. Every time.

Caudabe Synthesis in black. Great case. Stylish. Strong MagSafe magnets. Extra "grippy". Protective.

Ya prefer it to sheath ?

Yes... it feels a lot like the Sheath... but it has little bumpy grips on the side, as well... IMO, Synthesis is like the Sheath, only better.

But the back doesn’t seem as textured as the sheath

And the thing to the right of the camera bump is ugly to me, imo.

The back of the Synthesis is textured. Not sure if it’s as textured as the Sheath, but it’s not smooth. And the side grips are so nice!

It is textured... close to what the Sheath is... yeah, the thing around the camera bump is a bit non-standard, but the texture, overall look, fit and function, plus grip bumps make it a winner... it is, as the thread title says, my "go to" case. YMMV.

Oh yeah not trying to talk you out of it those were just why I went for sheath over it. But it still looks really nice and maybe in person and in practice the detractors don’t really matter

Jealous of that side grip that people say is objectively better than sheath

I just ordered a synthesis for my 12 Pro hopefully it’s as good as the current models. Sheath is good but feels chalky imo. The back of the synthesis appears to be recessed which is what I like about my Kisen clear it helps with grip

I'm alternating between the apple clear case when exercising and the Nomad leather (horween) the rest of the time. Both are good cases; I like the Nomad a lot more than the Apple leather cases, it feels great in the hand and the leather is lush.
