I recently have gone SSD crazy. First i bought one for my HP HDX, then the other day i bought a crucial M4 for my old and faithful mid 2007 macbook 2,1.
And just now i ordered a brand new macbook pro!
And.....another SSD
What i've been wondering is, i have always created 2 partitions on the disk. one for the OS and one for storage. just to keep them separate. Mostly because it seems cleaner that way to me, and if i want to reformat, i dont need to move all my files off. I can just format that partition and reinstall.
Is this ok to do on an SSD? is it bad in some way? does TRIM still work on that storage partition?
I just bought a 15" MBP with 2.5 i7 quad core. I got default ram and hard drive, and ordered 8GB ram from newegg for $80, and a 128GB crucial M4 SSD.
