Hi guys. I've just set up 2 additional email accounts. I've set it so I can see all emails from all accounts. Now is there a way to set up mail so Ican know which email account each email is for? I know I can go into each account separately, but ideally I'd like to be able to see this on the combined inbox.

Press on your name in the "to" field. You should too your mail and a "recent" text next to the one used for this one

Thanks guys. So there's no way of seeing which account the email for (I have a .mac account and a .icloud account and want to know which account the email is for)?

If Smart Addresses is turned off, can you see to the To: field in the email? Edited: oops, also check under the View menu that the To/From labels are enabled.

No, but you can create Smart Mailboxes if that might help. Wouldn't be great if there was color coding?
Colour coding would be brilliant. Surprised Apple hasn't done this.

And Smart Mailboxes? How do these work. Need to Google this :)

Oh wait a second, you can create rules for color coding in the Inbox based on the To: address (or any other criteria).

Here's the info about smart mailboxes:

OK, so first time creating a Mail rule? Go to Preferences > Rules > Add New and then select these options (and excuse the typo in the screenshot):

Ach, just on Mac then?

It is odd that the mail app doesn’t assign a colour to each email address. It’s such a handy little feature.
