Okay.
So I was attempting to install windows through Bootcamp a couple days ago, and when I was trying to partition my hard drive, an error popped up saying that there was an error in partitioning, some files cannot be moved, please backup your files, then restore the drive.

I thought that was strange enough, so I attempted to start up disk utility and see if anything was wrong with the drive permissions-wise. When trying to start disk utility it froze in a loop It would say gathering information for hours. I left it for three hours, and it never changed.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Boot from your Leopard install disk and run the disk utility from there. Allow it to make corrections to the disk if necessary. If the disk utility won't run from the install disk, you might have problems with your hard drive. But try that first.

Regards.
