Multiple Frame Images

I've always wondered how to make images that have multiple frames, so that when they're posted or played they act like a low-quality movie. I have two still shots that I want to combine together to make a multiple frame image. How do I go about doing this? Thanks a lot!

Do you have Photoshop? This in turn will mean you have ImageReady, which is what you can use to make an animated gif.

Unfortunately, no... I was hoping there was some way through Preview (or heck, even Apple Works) that I could make one.

Here's a free one. Never used it, so I can't say if it's any good or not.
