Multiple iPhones on one iCloud apple ID

I was able to update my iPhone, iPad and Mac to iOS 5, but still can't get iCloud to work due to heavy traffic. In the meantime, I'm trying to sync my wife's iPhone using my apple ID which I've been using together for some time and now she can't make any appointments on the calendar on her iPhone. Can anyone help?
