honestly, dark fashion is scrap! That's the sheer horror for the eyes
To each their own, I guess. But I attribute my longevity as a software developer (been sitting behind monitors for 40+ years) to setting my terminals/screens to light-on-dark whenever possible.

From these screenshots, Dark mode looks like an utter turd (in my opinion of course).

Is there anything actually useful added in Mojave?

Anyone else having some update weirdness with Transmit in Mojave? I had this dialog box pop up and it is running from the applications folder. Downloaded the new version from Panic and that gives me the same problem.

I can't understand this liking for white text on a dark background. If I ever encounter it on a website, it makes my eyes hurt, and subsequently switching back (to black text on white) feels even worse. I for one will never be using this view.

1password 6.8.8 don't get dark mode for mac os mojave?

Actually the latest 6 is 6.8.9 and is not dark mode compatible.

My safari seems to still use a white background, would be nice if it was also dark mode
hopefully chrome too

My Safari is dark mode since update to Mojave yesterday. Change it in System Preferences > General.

I thought I'd hate it* but my eyes are really appreciating the change, in all lighting conditions. I don't enjoy the stark contrast of apps with white pages, slides and sheets (which I use a lot) and the web is a similar lottery, but the overall benefit has been positive.

It's a shame third party apps don't change like the apple apps, although since I'm running dark mode 24/7, it doesn't matter once you've changed the settings of each app. Developers must love this, as you'll need to be up to date and running their latest version to benefit.

*based on my experience with Pixelmator Pro, where everything is black as black and very confusing. Apple have really done some work on this and UI navigation is still super easy and the subtle colour changes are really pleasing. Pixelmator's features are great but I wish they would look at some other dark designs and see how they succeed at being usable.

Developers are going to be happy if this catches on!
