When I got my iPhone I entered my Apple ID (then******@gmail.com) into iCloud. I then was able to make a new @me.com (drj******@me.com) (soon to be @icloud.com) email account.

In this situation my Apple Purchases Receipts go to the Apple ID email (then******@gmail.com) & my personal emails go to my new @me.com (drj******@me.com). This situation is perfect for my family but I am having a hard time setting my wife up with an @me.com email within the Apple ID email too.

So it looks like this:

1. Family Apple ID (then******@gmail.com)
a. my @me.com (drj******@me.com)
b. wife @me.com (?)

Anybody out there have any advice for me?

You can't. Apple used to sell Family Packs for MobileMe that allowed that, but with iCloud, those became separate accounts (since they were free), and there's no way to have multiple accounts under one AppleID.

Fortunately, you don't have to. If she wants an @me.com address, she can just set up her own, but continue to use the shared one for purchasing and other shared functions.
