We have one of our macs with office 2011 and OSX 10.7 which is going to have to be shared between two users.

The macs log on with a generic user and then the outlook is setup with their AD profiles.

Now I have found the article on how to swap between profiles in so much you have to load the MS profile app, then set the other to the default which is all a bit long winded and not suitable for users.

Short of creating a new user on the mac and having them log off each night, is ther a better option?

Thanks

Better in what ways? Better doesn't really mean much without your specific criteria stated. Is ease of use for the user the only major concern?

I'm not sure which part of the last option you were objecting to, but you don't have to log out to switch users. Just enable Fast User Switching.

MacOS X is designed and intended to be a multi-user operating system. Best practices dictate that even a single user/owner should establish at least two accounts--one administration account and a second standard account that is used for all productive work. Sharing a single account between two users is bad practice beyond belief.

The need to share files is not an excuse for having a single user account for multiple users. MacOS X has a shared user account that allows multiple users to share local files.
