Dunno if it’s just me but I tried to use multitasking and it’s not working.

I press the icon and swipe up and it pulses and nothing.

I checked in settings and multitasking was on. So I turned it off, rebooted and then turned it on again.

No difference. Anyone else?

There is no icon to press. Flicks and swipes are made from the bottom of the screen:

1. Flick up from the bottom of the screen to go home. (Flick means that you don't move your hand. As you flick your finger will naturally leave the surface of the iPad).
2. Swipe (meaning to move your finger up while keeping it on the display) up a little bit and the dock will rise with your finger.
3. Keep swiping higher and the display will smoothly transition to the multitasking interface.

When I flick the icon, it pulses (that’s what I meant by press).
When I swipe, the icon moves off the dock.
If I swipe up on Safari and keep swiping up, Safari disappears back to the dock.

All the other stuff works. Swipe up from the middle, up and left/right and down from top-right (getting used to all this).

It’s just no multi-tasking on my iPad Pro 9.7.

I’ve used Multitasking on iPad since it came out. That’s precisely what I’m doing with the result that I described.

When I swipe Safari up from the dock, the icon flies off the dock.
If I flick it with my finger, the icon flashes. Like selected (dimmed) then not selected (bright).

I guess I’m just going to have to find time to go to an Apple Store to show them.

You may have to take it in and show them or wait for an update if the normal steps, reboot, forced restart, etc. aren’t working. I’ve just been playing around with this on my iPad and the process is the same as it has been for me and works quite well. I’ve had a learning curve with a few of the changes in 12 but not this one.

I vaguely remember a similar issue with my iPad Mini 4 on one of the public beta versions. I think a hard reset fixed it (hold power + home until screen goes black, then release)
