Multitasking on iPhone 3G?

So this is one of the more interesting "bugs" I've ran into on the iPhone OS 4 beta for the iPhone 3G.

Its seems that if I exit out of the Google App while it's still loading search results I get the "double thick" status bar at the top of the phone for about 3 seconds before it cuts off.

It seems like Apple hasn't blocked all the multitasking code in this firmware.

Anyone else run into this?

I did exactly what you did and got the same result, so probably something that just isn't supposed to be there.
