While I (impatiently) wait for the supposed M5 Studio Ultra, I need a Mac for work where I do a lot of multitasking with programs like Photoshop/Topaz Photo AI, Resolve, Chrome web browser, Excel, FTP client, several folders open etc...and all are used at once with them all open and being used in succession. The Mac will be plugged into x2 32" 6k monitors (dual set up).
I've tried using my old M1 16" Macbook Pro with 16GB RAM but its just to slow rendering Resolve files and especially Topaz Photo AI.
For reference, I'm coming from a PC with a 5090/9950X3D so am used to a fast machine.
The new machine will be kind of a stop-gap but will probably get some use out of it later and it won't move from my desk so the screen is kind of redundant really.
Will a 16" M5 Macbook Pro with 48GB/1TB Drive be sufficient for the above or should I spend the extra £1000 on the Max with 48GB Ram which comes with a 2 TB drive as standard?
