Hello guys,

every time I connect my AirPods with my iPhone, my lockscreen show me Apple Music.
How can I disable that?

I force closed Apple Music in the background, but it pop up every time again..

I am seeing a similar issue where I see one of my songs begin displayed on the control center Now Playing, even though I have not started the Music app and selected a song.

I know this is a really old bug (I think it is), most every time when I connect my phone to CarPlay using the wired USB, I find that my phone will start playing a song. Why does Apple insist on deciding for me when I should listen to music. Besides it can be unnerving at times. And it happens even though I have FM radio selected and the audio turned off when I park. It is has been this way since at least iOS 12. Apple if you are reading this, I have submitted feedback on this. Please fix this as it is really annoying bug.

Hmm.. I feel lucky I don’t have this bug. Every settings in Siri/Apple Music are on.

Make sure your head unit doesn't give you the option to connect to CarPlay only and not be connected to the car any other people....like feature phone bluetooth or something.

This is a carry over feature from the iPod days. The iPhone (and iPod) gives control to the head unit so you can press play, pause, FF etc on the head unit. When you plug your iPhone in via USB or connect via BT to your head unit its sending the "play" command to the iPhone. Now the last thing that was playing if recent or Apple Music just starts playing.

Look around in the settings of the cars head unit for AutoPlay, USB play, something like that (maybe in the Apps or CarPlay settings) to turn it off. I have a Alpine HU in my beater and it doesn't offer a setting to turn that off. My DD thankfully just doesn't do it (Silverado w/ CarPlay). Its nice because even if I'm playing music it will stop when it connects to CarPlay.

You can make an automation in the Shortcut app that will pause music when it connects to your vehicle.

That is exactly what I have been doing and it is a bad work around for the situation. I have a Honda CRV and in the hU there is no auto play option. Also, no other connected options for any other devices, just CarPay, no bluetooth connections. There are a few postings from people who have encountered this same thing.

Try settings - Siri & search - music - learn from this app (off), suggestions (off)
Thanks you. I thunk that has stopped the song from being in my Now Playing in control center. And that will save me some battery life I suppose.

EDIT: Just now a song was shown in Now Playing in Control Center. I think I read somewhere that another poster encountered something like this. Appreciate the suggestion though.

For a while now, I've noticed that whenever I wear my AirPods, even only to make a phone call, the Music app will show up as having something playing (but paused) in the control center. As if it automatically wants me to start listening to music.

If I open the Music app and kill it, the playing indicator will go away, only to return the next time I wear my AirPods (even if the app is killed and not open in the task switcher).

I already turned off Siri suggestions for the Music app, but it still does it.

This happens on both my iPad and iPhone since iOS/iPadOS 15.0. Still the same now in 15.1 RC.

Any clue as to why that is, and how I can stop it from happening? Thanks 😊

Same thing happening to me. Every time I insert AirPods into my ears the music app appears on the Lock Screen. Very annoying if you only want to make a phone call. Wish there was a way of stopping this but I can’t figure out how to do it.

I don't think this is limited to AirPods. I have the same thing with Jabra BT earbuds. I listen to a podcast, then put away the earbuds. Then the next morning I connect the earbuds and Music comes up and starts playing a song all on its own.

I have been in contact with Apple today. I was having an issue where several I would see a music selelection would show up in the control panel. I would have to have start and kill off the music app. And it would happen several times an hour. Apple suggested that I delete the Music app and then re-download it again. It seems to have corrected the situation for me. The other thing I have been experiencing is that I would have the same thing happen when I connected my phone to CarPlay and the phone would start playing a song. Hopefully this also fixes that situation.

Maybe this would help others.
