So, Apple in their infinite wisdom have destroyed the music app on the watch so it cannot browse and control my music library

Are there any apps that can duplicate this functionality as at the moment I cannot do what my watch was bought for :(

Someone mentioned you can use Siri on watch to start playlists on the phone, then the now playing controls still work on watch. I haven't tested it yet myself. (and it's a workaround...)

Not really going to work on the office unless I want to look like a fool though

But thank for the idea

You can try to use Workflow - creating separate workflows for starting a specific playlist on your iPhone and then use the "buttons" on your watch. That's the way I tried it, at least, as I also was very surprised by Apples ridiculous move to break iPhone music control on the watch. Works fine with smaller playlists - however it gets stuck (at least on my watch) halfway on bigger playlists.

Browsing artists, song titles etc. still stays a problem. Really hoping that Apple will correct their mistake and bring this functionality back.

If you use bottom right button for the dock, Now Playing is always there. So you just access controls that way. THough you do have to use the Music app to get to a specific playlist

Er no you can’t. The only playlists you can access are ones on the watch. Given the pathetic amount of storage on there and the ridiculously long time it takes to transfer data this is not acceptable. Apple have basically screwed over Watch users by removing the functionality of accessing playlists from the phone. The watch musically at least is now akin to an iPod shuffle from 2011.

I really hate this. Other than telling the time the only thing I used my watch for was as a controller for the music on the phone. Everything else on there is a gimmick and apples fantasy world (as demonstrated at their events) is to invent solutions for problems that normal people just don’t have.

Ahhh you are totally right. You used to be able to access playlist on your phone and your watch. Now it's only watch. I did not notice because I never listened to music that way. However, the GB storage for music on the watch did increase cause I have 700 songs on my watch where before 200 songs was the maximum. I add playlist overnight, but since I use Apple Music, I can download a playlist from my library and it's relatively faster

Glad I saw this I thought I was going crazy..why apple? Thought my settings were off or something
Yeah, I am really ticked off with Apple for stripping the functionality and not allowing any way to reverse it

Am hoping something comes back in the next update but not holding my breath. Apple are not in my good books

I searched the forums when I discovered I could no longer control my music library from my watch. It is one of the most important features of the watch, one that I talk up to non watch owners. I am extremely unhappy. I certainly hope someone is working to get it fixed immediately.
