So I was listening to music on my Airpods and now that little red "music is playing" icon in the same spot the notification icon normally is, won't go away. I tried stopping the music on both iPhone and Apple Watch but nothing helps.

A reboot will probably fix it but is this a common problem?

I have seen the same issue and even go as far as rolling the wrist will bring back up the Now Playing app - even though nothing is playing. A reboot (of the watch and iPhone) resolved it. Likely a bug.

This has happened a couple of times to me as well. I found that force closing the Apple Music app removes it for me.

Happened to me as well when my Beats earbuds died while playing music. Once I recharged the Beats and reconnected them the notification icon went away.

Experienced this too while using my BeatsX wireless even though I closed/stopped the Music App and Radio App. Reboot is my only fix.
