I have been using iTunes Match for over a year and when MUSIC was out I immediately signed up, so I'm subscribed to both services.
In iTunes 12.2 (on OS X Yosemite 10.10.4) I was fumbling with my Account Info and iTunes preferences and unexpectedly changed all my downloaded Apple Music tracks from iCloud Status = Apple Music to iCloud Status = Matched.
Surprised by that, I did a little experiment and removed the downloads for my Apple Music tracks. Re-downloading (Make Available Offline) them turned them into Matched AAC audio files. This behaviour seems to be inconsistent though; I was able to re-download complete albums as Matched AAC (hence disconnecting FairPlay from the entire album), in some cases all tracks in one album still download as Apple Music AAC, while for some albums it's a half-half issue.
I don't exactly care if the files gets converted or not (since I plan to stay on MUSIC for a long time) but just thought I'll point out this gigantic bug here.
