Beginning today, music has begun spontaneously playing on my mac. It doesn't seem associated with an Internet site or popup. I have tried shutting down all my applications (iTunes is NOT on), checking my security settings (they were fairly secure before but now are blocking everything)---to no avail. Has this happened to anyone else? I can't seem to get rid of this music except by hitting the mute button, which disallows any other sound features. I have tried restarting but the music started up again after a few minutes. The only new application I have installed in the last few days is Skype.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there a painless solution? Is it a virus? Is it some silly thing I am totally missing?
