How come nobody has said anything here? It is just trying to take a still photo (no live photo) and music stops whenever I open the camera app. This is the biggest dealbreaker on the iphone 6s. I think I'm returning if they don't fix this soon.

No it hasn't, happens only on the 6S. The music would keep playing if you're taking a picture but stop if you're trying to take a video, just tried on my iPad to confirm it's not an iOS 9 issue.
It was fixed in the 9.1 beta 2, but it reverted back to this behavior in the third beta - at least now it resumes playing immediately after exiting photos.
I also assume it's related to the live photos, but it's incredibly annoying that this happens even when they're turned off. I'd express your annoyance about this to Apple too - I'm definitely unhappy about this as well.

I noticed this too; very annoying. If you go back to the music app and start the music and then try opening camera; the camera doesn't work.
I'm on the latest software, 9.0.2, and it doesn't resume playing after I exit the photo app. I guess we'd have to use another camera app for now but there's no shortcut on the lock screen for other camera apps. 🙁
